I am currently working as a software engineer at the National Library of Norway, where I am developing applications that assist with the preservation of various kinds of digital media.
About The National Library of Norway
The National Library of Norway aims to be the nation's memory of memory of knowledge and culture. Through the Legal Deposit Act, the National Library is mandated to collect and preserve all Norwegian media, which is subsequently indexed and made available to the public.
Currently my work revolves around the retrieval and validation of different types of digital media. This poses several interesting challenges such as transferring large quantities of files effectively and securely from a wide range of hosts, validating that all files comply to standards as outlined by their respective specifications and, finally, ensuring that all expected files have been successfully received and displaying potential deviations to the end user.
